A History of Success.......
Coming into our second good rain year in a long while, we awaited our 2009 season with great anticipation. And when we started getting our first trail cam glimpses of the bucks we would be hunting.....the excitement grew from there. For our second year in a row, our average buck grossed over 140 inches! Whats more though, is that many of the bucks we were targeting did not get taken, but were left for 2010! Because of this, I predict 2010 to be our best year ever. Be sure to look at our "Still Walking" page to see some of the bucks we'll be hunting next year, after another year of growth! If you are even remotely thinking about hunting with us in the future, I would say that you need to be looking at booking in 2010 and 2011. The bucks just keep getting better as we get deeper into the good rain cycle.

Todd Czarnecki showing off his 163" Gross buck!
We trail cammed this buck multiple times and hoped to kill him. We had 12 shooter bucks on the same trail camera. As is often the case, Todd's buck totally dissappeared during the rut, no doubt due to all the does he was breeding. But, as is also often the case, the rut peak came and went and Todd was there to take advantage of the situation when the buck started having to look for does again. The after kill shot of this buck really doesn't do him justice. The trail cam photo gives you a good idea just how big of a frame this old buck had. |

Eli McIntosh with a slick 150.
We had no idea how big this buck was. Didn't really look that impressive on trail cam. But it had great mass and had a body size that dwarfed the rack. This is common during our good rain years as bucks grow in excess of 250 pounds.

Joshua Jones with a tremendous 146' 4x4.
When a 4x4 gets that big, its an impressive trophy. This buck was bachelored with about 10 total shooter bucks including two tremendous non-typicals that we have not yet taken. We'll be looking for those bucks next season!

James Brion's Buck shot for the TV show "The Zone" coming to the Sportsman Channel, summer 2010.
I had a day and a half off of guiding between groups, so we went out and put an accubond into an old Prairie Buck. I love taking mature deer like this one. Not a great scorer at 144 inches, but as a 23 inch wide 4x4......pretty hard to pass up. |

Jim Phillips with his 141" Gross Buck!
Jim's buck was just about identical to mine...a large, mature, wide spread 4x4. Jim was on a two buck hunt and also harvested a nice mule deer a couple of days later.

Gary Joseph and his 2009 Archery Buck!
Gary always gets his buck. Even when it's 85 degrees! Our september feeding trail archery hunt was brutally hot. With even remotely seasonal temps we would have killed some slammers coming into the alfalfa fields. We still had a great hunt, just not what it could have been. Gary's deer next season will likely be much bigger. |

Robert Clark's two bucks
Robert came on a two buck hunt with us and harvested these two deer. Both upper 130's bucks. |
